Day 3 of Halloween Projects: Sweet Treat Spiders

Welcome back to day 3 of the 31 days of horror.  Tonight, we are going to watch The Texas Chainsaw Masacre for our Halloween movie of the day.  Today's project is the third and final place in awards for our costume contest.

I made these little spiders with the sweet treat cups that are made by Stamping Up.
I cut the spiders out with the Mini Monsters cart.  I cut the top layer and added a circle to cut out of the center with the George and Basic Shapes Cart in the Gypsy.  Then, I cut another spider without the circle for the backing of this.  They are filled with Reeses Pieces (I only used the brown ones to go with the colors of the spider).  I found these great colored google eyes at the craft store, so I added some green eyes to match her bow.  I then used a white opaque pen to add the smile to the front of the cup, dots on the bow and the lines to the spiders legs.

The awards to go with these was computer generated and I added a little spider sticker to them.

In addition to these, since this is the end of the awards, I wanted to show you guys the numbers that I made for the costume contest voting.  We will give everybody a number to make it easier to fill in the voting sheets.  These were plain ghosts shapes that I found at Michaels for $1 for 12 of the shapes.  I added some google eyes, the mouth, and some bows and bow ties to make these little guys cute.  I then numbered them and they were finished.  These were super quick and easy and they turned out so cute.  You could very easily make these with the cricut as well by cutting out whatever base shape you would like to use.
Thanks for joining me again today.  If you haven't left a comment for the day one giveaway, be sure to do so before the end of today and check back in Monday to see who won.  Also, be sure to get your guesses in for the Candy Corn Counting Contest for a chance to win a brand new Doodlecharms cartridge!

  4. The spiders are beyond charming! Love the bows on the ghosties. How was The Fourth Kind? I don't think I have ever seen that movie? What are you watching tonight?

  5. The Fourth Kind was okay. George liked it more than I did. Tonight we are watching The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. We tried to alternate the days of who gets to pick and we have a ton of Halloween movies, because we buy a few more each year since we always do this.
