To make this, I started with a 8x10 picture frame and removed the glass. Then, I took some Doodlebug brand blue cardstock and adhered it directly to the back of the frame.
Next, I had a styrofoam snowman that I needed to be cut in half so it would have a flat back. My husband used a hand saw to do this for me. I then took an exacto knife and cut a small craft hat that I got at Hobby Lobby in half.
Now, I hot glued the snowman and the hat to the frame and then embellished him. I hot glued gems for the eyes and mouth and added buttons to the front. My husband made me a nose shape out of a small piece of wood and I painted it orange. I then added some ribbon to the neck area to be a scarf. Finally, I took some pipe cleaners and made arms that were stuck directly into the sides (no glue needed for them).
The best part is that since you cut the hat and snowman in half, you will be able to make two projects from them.
