Chandalier Cavas Project

In the PaperCrafts Magazine for this month, I saw that they have a blog with challenges on it, so I had to check it out.  You can find the blog here: http://www.moxiefabworld.com/.  They have some great posts and some great challenges going on right now.  I made this for their Gray is the New Black Challenge.  The challenge can be found here: http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/01/gray-is-new-black-challenge.html

The challenge is to incorporate gray in a unique way into a project.  I knew that I wanted to use the colors pink and gray, because I love this combination.  I used the Home Decor Cricut Cartridge for my cuts on this.
I started out with a white canvas that is size 14x14.  I used a ruler to mark off four 7inch squares around the canvas.

I then used Folk Art Acrylic paint to cover the canvas.  The colors I used were: Baby Pink and Gunmetal Gray.

Next, I cut two small chandalier cuts in a white glitter cardstock with a gray shadow from the Home Decor Cricut Cartridge.  I glued these into the pink squares on the canvas.
Next, I cut a large chandalier in gray with a pink blackout cut for the background. I wanted this to stand up off the canvas, so I used pop dots and layered them on top of each other three high to get the height I was looking for.

Next, I used glue dots to attach pearls in two different sizes to the chandalier for some extra embellishment.  These were not flat back pearls, they are the regular pearls that I bought from the jewelry section for the bracelets I made and they worked out well for this.
Here is a side view so you can see the dimension better.
