Fantabulous Cricut Challenge 47: Weather Forecast

This week over at Fantabulous Cricut, our challenge is Weather Forecast.  You need to create a project with your favorite weather or season, etc.  Be sure to check out all of the great projects by the Design Team and get your own projects entered here.

For my project, I wanted to make a layout using the sun, because I love the Summer.  I am so ready to get rid of this cold weather and have warm sunshine.  I also love The Beatles, so my inspiration for this layout came from their song "Here comes the sun". 

For the title, I used the Don Juan cartridge and yellow vinyl so it would be easily applied to the layout.  I also outlined the letters with a black gel pen so they would stand out.  The top says "Here comes the sun" and then I added another line from the song "It's alright" to the bottom as well.  For the sun, I used the Campin Critters cartridge.  I just got this cartridge as part of my Vday's gift (I got it a little early) and I love it.  I added some faux stitching with a yellow glitter pen and outlined the sun in black as well.  I then hand cut the rays out of a sheet of yellow cardstock.  I did this by laying the sun down on the sheet and then just tracing out rays, hand cutting them and used every other ray for my layout.  Finally, I used the Storybook Cart for the photo frame and used a black gel pen to add an inner outline to the frame.  Can't wait to get a great summer picture to add to this layout.
