I dig you Valentine Shovels

I decided a while back that this was going to be the Valentine's for Kaylee's class this year, so I had my family looking for shovels when they marked them down after last summer.  They were able to find enough red shovels for these.  I think they turned out so cute!  I made 23 of these shovels and the little buckets I put them in came from the Target dollar area.

I started out by with the small plastic storage bags from Hobby Lobby and cut the top zip lock part off.  I then added five candy hearts and a little notebook to them and tied it with a ribbon.

Next, to make the tags, I used the Storybook Cartridge to cut a tag out in two sizes (red glitter for the background and white for the top layer).  I then printed the sentiment on the computer and taped the cricut cut over the sentiment and reprinted it directly onto my cuts.  Finally, I added a small red button to the tags.

Now, I punched a hole in the top of these and used another piece of ribbon to attach them and the bag of candy to the shovel.  I also added a couple of large glue dots to the back of the candy bags to make sure they stay securely on the shovels.

I am entering these into the following challenge:

  2. My mom and sister found them at the Dollar General. They came in packs of 3 (red, yellow and blue). So, now I have a good bit of yellow and blue shovels that I will have to think of something to do with.
