I saw this idea in a book that I got from Hobby Lobby on patchwork projects. I used that inspiration and hand drew my own pattern to the size that I wanted to make this. I used fat quarters for the fabric that is the cactus and the base. I got the small flower pot from the craft store also. When the cactus was sewn, I added some pins to my pin cushion to look like the needles on the cactus.
