Monster Cake

If you are looking for today's Spook-tac-u-lar Halloween Project, scroll down to the previous posting. :)

On Sunday, I went to spend the day at my sister Melissa's house with her, Kaylee and one of the twins, Britney.  Our other sister Whitney had to work, so she missed out on the family fun day. :(  Anyways, me and Britney made a Monster Cake.  We are making one of these for our big Halloween party and we just wanted to go ahead and make it to see how it would turn out.  Me and Britney made the cake while Melissa worked on her costume.  Kaylee was going to help, but mainly she just ate the cake balls as we made them, lol.
To make this, we made two 9 inch round cakes and stacked them. I did a crumb coat over the cakes with white icing.
Next, we died the rest of the icing leaf green and I used a grass tip to add the green icing so it would look like fur.
For the eyes, we used cake balls. My mom got this cake ball maker that we tried out and it is awesome. It takes only a couple of minutes and makes six at a time. Once the cake balls were cooled, Britney dipped them in melted white chocolate.

Then, we put them onto the cake and I added some black food gel for the eyes. I then just used the black gel to add a mouth and some white gel to add a little tooth. I love how our monster turned out!!
I love how our little monster turned out!!
