If you are looking for today's Halloween project, scroll down to the pevious post.
I made this mask today for the challenge over at Cutting Up With Class here: http://www.cuttinupwithclass.blogspot.com/. This week the SVG to use is a basic mask file. I love all of the masks the decorative masquerade masks they have out at Halloween, so I thought I would make my own version.
I started out by cutting the mask at about 6 1/2 inches wide in silver glitter paper. Then I added a flower and some jewelry chains to the side which I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I then used hot glue to add some flat back black pearls in a design going around the eye. Now, I wanted my mak to be held up, so I took a wooden dowel and painted it with silver paint, then wrapped a thin piece of black ribbon around it. I secured the ribbon with a small dot of hot glue at the top and bottom. Once that was finished, I hot glued it to the back of the mask. I really love how it turned out. Now, I just need to find me a Masquerade Ball to attend.
Beautiful!!!

OOOOO! How pretty! Love the glitter and rhinestones. Great idea to attach it to a stick like a masquerade mask.

ReplyDeleteMasquerade! Paper faces on parade! Masquerade! (That's a little bit from Phantom of the Opera...my favorite scene...Masquerade!) I was in that play in high school and your mask looks almost exactly like the mask I wore for that scene! Brings back lots of great memories. Your mask is fabulous!
