Spook-tac-u-lar Day 2: Monster Mouth Treats

Welcome back to day 2 of the 31 days of Spook-tac-u-lar fun.  Remember when you are finished here, stop by to see what Rhonda at http://www.scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ has made to share with you today also.

For Kaylee's class this year, I wanted to make some little monster people with candy bars in their mouth.  I thought about how to do this and decided that the Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge had the cutest monsters to do this with.  I decided to do a variety of monsters and hopefully the kids won't fight over who gets which one, lol.  Here is a picture of all of the monsters together.

Here is each of the three different types of monsters I made.

To make these, I measured the mini Hershey bars and layed out the monsters on my Gypsy with a square in the center at a size of 3.6wide x 1.85high . I cut a base black layer and then a top layer with the square cut out.   For the mouth, I welded together diamond shapes inside the square and then simply cut the pieces left around the shape in half to mke teeth.  The cut sizes for the monsters are as follows: Pirates: 6.13wide x 5.71high, Three Eyed Monsters: 8.84wide x 7.34high, Rectangle Monsters: 6.88wide x 5.71high.

Now, I assembled the top and bottom layers and added details to each of the monsters. (Google eyes, horns, white accents) Then, I glued the Hershey bar on top of the black square.
Once the glue was dried, I used hot glue (quickly so it wouldn't melt the chocolate) to attach the teeth right above where the chocolate fit into the mouth.
