Spook-tac-u-lar Day 5: Mummy Canvas

Welcome back to Day 5 of the 31 days of Spook-tac-u-lar Halloween projects.  Remember to stop by and visit Rhonda at http://www.scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ after you are finished here to see what she has to share with you today.  Also, I want to remind everybody that this week's giveaway goes through Thursday, so if you have not entered yet, be sure to visit the link at the top of my page for your chance to win.

Now, for today's project, I have a Mummy Canvas to share with you.  It is pretty simple to do and I think it makes a great decoration.
To make this project, you will need: a canvas that is 8x24, french vanilla paint and a brush, rolled guaze, Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink (not pictured), 2 large google eyes, and a hot glue gun.

I painted the canvas with a light coat of the french vanilla paint.  You could use any beige type color you would like. This is just so you won't see white through the guaze.

Next, you will use hot glue to attach the gauze on the back and continue wrapping it and using the glue on the back.  It took me 3 of the rolled guaze packs to cover the canvas.  You can get these from the Dollar Tree.  Once it was completely wrapped, I used the Tim Holtz ink to distress the gauze.

Once I had it distressed to my liking, I used the hot glue gun to add the two google eyes and finish it off.  I wanted the google eyes to look like they were peeking out a little bit, so I glued them slightly under some of the gauze.
