Scrap it with a Song Top 5

Thank you to the ladies at Scrap it With a Song for picking the layout of Kaylee and her Mom as part of their top 5 for the Sweet Child of Mine song challenge!

Happy Memorial Day!

Hope everybody is having a Happy Memorial Day! I have been to Tennessee to see my grandparents today. Spent the weekend moving furniture and going to a birthday party. We got a new bed that we moved here, but we haven't took it upstairs yet, so that should be fun, lol. Anyways, I have a busy week ahead, so I am going to try to work on some projects, but not sure how much I will get done. Hope everybody has a good rest of the day!!

Thanks so much to Audrey and all of the team fairies over at Cute and Some Blogspot for the Shocase #8 Award for the Kaylee and Her Mom layout that I submitted! I love the blog and enjoy the challenges every week.

Upward Cheerleading

These are some layouts that I made of my niece from Upward Cheerleading this year. The letters are from Don Juan. I welded them together and cut on white paper, then I colored them in with Martha Stewart Glitter Markers. The cheerleader and the pom poms are from Everyday Paper Dolls. I tried to make the outfit look as close to her outfit as possible. I cut her arm and tilted it up so the megaphone could be towards her mouth. I used some paper that had cheerleading words on it to matt the photos. I really liked how this one turned out.

Skull Birthday Card

I made this card for my cousin for his birthday this weekend. He loves the game Halo and my husband told me you collect skulls in the game to get an award called Oddball. So, on the inside of the card I put "Don't be an Oddball, Have a good birthday!". The skull is from Indie Art and I welded them together in the Gypsy. The paper on the front is from the Rockstar paper pack. I used red stickles on the eyes and nose.

My Little Crafty Sidekick

I watched my niece, Kaylee, on Tuesday and we had a fun day. We made a mini scrapbook and a puppy dog layout with the cricut, but I didn't take pictures of those. Then we played at the park and we did a stained glass that you bake and she also painted this little plastic guy that we got at Hobby Lobby. She painted him and then used some clay to make him some wings. She loves playing with the cricut and making crafts, so I am rubbing off on her. My husband is an artist and she also likes to draw with him, so we are making sure she has a creative upbringing, lol.

Kaylee and her Mom

I made this page for two different challenges:

Scrap it with a Song: There song for this week is Sweet Child of Mine. I used lyrics from the song around the page as a border. These were computer generated and printed onto the page.

Cute and Some Contributor's Showcase #8: There challenge this week is to use 2 different shades of blue (layout background and the matt behind my picture and also the ribbon I used has blue), beads or pearls (I put pearls in the middle of my flowers and used flower shaped gemstones on the corners), Minimum of 1 flower (I have 3 Prima flowers on this layout), and ribbon (I put strands of ribbon on the side of the picture).

This layout has no cricut used on it. The swirly lines around the page are adhesive borders from K and Company. I also added some white stitch lines around the picture matt for an accent. This is a picture of my niece and her mom at the beach this summer.
I have also added this to the challenge to use journaling around the page at sketchesbytamara. Christina at SWAS told me about this site and I have posted a link to them in my side bar if you want to check their site out.

Playdate

The circle in this layout that I used for the journal area is from Home Decor and the playdate at the bottom is from Designer's Calendar.

JumpRope for Heart

Kaylee participated in the JumpRope for Heart at school this year and she raised the most money in school, so I thought that was something I should scrapbook for her to remember. The title is from Don Juan and I welded the letters on the Gypsy. The Jump Roping girl is from Everyday Paper Dolls. The little hearts on the page are buttons.

Canvas Painting

I used the Create A Critter Cartridge to make a stencil and trace onto this canvas to make this painting. It is for my niece's room. Thanks for looking.

House Warming Card

I made this card for a house warming shower that I have tomorrow. I don't know why I put it off for so long, but I waited until this morning to make it. I used Create a Critter for all of the cuts. I added embossing to some parts of the house and the little outfits on the pigs. The doorknob is a little wooden piece that my husband had, it has the round know, but it had a flat part on the bottom that made it easy to attach.

Botanical Gardens Treehouses

On this 2 page layout, I used Don Juan for the title, Create a Critter for the tree, beehive, bee and caterpillar and I used Serenade for the branch. I used the Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes for the tree and branches and Love Language for the bee hive, and Swiss Dots on the caterpillar. I then added some chalking and stickles to the tree, stickles to the caterpillar, and stickles to the bee hive and bee. I loved these little ant and ladybug shapes I found, so I added a few of them around the pages also.
This week, there is a challenge over at Practical Scrappers to use patterned paper. The background paper on these pages is two patterned pages from the Songbird paper stack and then I also matted the pictures with another patterned sheet from this stack as well. Be sure to check out their site to see all of the entries and to enter your own projects.

Hello, I'm Johnny Cash

This is another layout that was made with my Mother In Law's pictures. Johnny Cash was her favorite singer and she had scrapbooks of all of his magazine clippings and newspaper articles from when she was growing up. I am going to try to make some more pages and incorporate some of the clippings that she had. On this layout, I also used the cds that looked like records like I used on the Elvis layout. The title was cut with Don Juan. These pictures were taken at the Johnny Cash show and that is my Mother in Law with Johnny Cash while he signed the autograph for her and her ticket stub for the show.
I entered this layout on the Contributor's Showcase on the Cute and Some Blog. Their theme this week is to use a CD. Be sure to check out their blog to see all of the entries and to enter your own project. http://cuteandsome.blogspot.com/

Elvis Layout

My Mother in Law passed away a few years ago and she had lots of pictures, tickets and autographs from a bunch of celebrities that she had seen. I have been wanting to go through all of her stuff and make a scrapbook for my husband to have and I made a couple of layouts earlier today.

The concert pictures in this layout are from 1975. I used Don Juan for the title and the Elvis was made from the Everyday Paper Dolls Dress Up Cart. I found some CDs that looked like records, so I thought they would be a perfect touch to the page. I also added lots of rhinestones in true king fashion.

The Graduate

My niece is graduating from Kindergarten on Friday and I wanted to make her a little something special. I made this graduate from the Paper Dolls Cart and I added a $5 to her hand. I rolled it to look like a diploma and secured the money with a small rubber band. I then punched two small holes in the hand so I could run ribbon through it to cover up the band. I think it kind of looks like her, so I was happy with how it turned out.
I put this in the MY SHERI CRAFTS CHALLENGE #5. The challenge this week is to make a Kid's themed project. Check out their blog to see all of the projects and to play along. http://myshericrafts.blogspot.com/

Water Can Layout

I designed this page on the Gypsy. I used Plantin Schoolbook for the flowers and grass at the bottom, it is actually two borders welded together. I added white brads to the middle of some of the flowers and colored them with Martha Stewart Glitter Markers. All of the flowers were then covered with stickles and I used colored pencils to shade the grass. The watering can is from the Paper Dolls Dress Up and I embossed it with the Divine Swirls Folder. The water drops are from Indie Art and I added glossy accents over the top of them to give them a wet look. The paper for the background and the paper that I used to frame the pictures are from the Song Bird paper stack that came from Michael's.
I am entering this page in the contest over at She's A Sassy Lady. She is giving away the LoveStruck Cartridge on May 25th and you just need to be a follower of hers and enter a summer project for a chance to win. Went Overboard at Big Lots

I had to go to Decatur with my sister this weekend and we figured that we would stop in the Big Lots there since we were out that way. Anyways, the one by my house doesn't have any of the cuttlebug stuff, but this one did. I went crazy and bought 17 of them. They were only $2 each, so I couldn't help myself.

6th Birthday

Here is another birthday page. Kaylee actually had two parties (one for family and one for friends), so I am going to have quite a few birthday pages once I finish them. The 6 on this page was cut from Don Juan and embossed with Spots and Dots on the cuttlebug. I then added some orange stickles.
