My Pop Rocks

I made this card and candy bucket for my dad for Father's Day. The wooden saying came from Michael's. When I saw the "My Pop Rocks" saying, I knew that I wanted to make something for him with the pop rocks candy in it. The bucket came from the Target $ spot and I just put a piece of styrofoam in the bottom to hold the sticks. I used some blue glitter paint to cover the main stick that the words were on, since that was the only stick you could see in the bucket.

Next, I wanted to make him a card that matched this. The Contributor's Showcase Challenge at Cute and Some this week is to use a stamped image, ribbon and a charm on a card, so I thought this would be a good card to use that formula with. The guitar was made on the gypsy using the Indie Art Card. I used a lot of little brads on this one to add to it.
For the Cute and Some Challenge, I incorporated the elements as follows:
Ribbon: I used ribbon to make the strings on the guitar. I took one piece of thin black ribbon and cut it in half to make two strings.
Charm: I did not have a charm that I wanted to use on hand, so I cut the saying you rock from the stamping solutions cart and added some holes to it to make them become a charm.
Stamped Image: On the inside, I added a music note with a heart on the end. This was a stamping up mini stamp that I have.

Thanks for looking! I was really happy with how this turned out and think my dad will like it too!
Update: The Fantabulous Cricut Challenge for the week of June 13th is a masculine project for dad, so I am also entering this into their challenge. Be sure to stop by their website and check out all of the entries and enter your own project as well.

Excellent take on the challenge. I like you used your creative side for the ribbon/strings, the charm/die cuts and the stamp is super cute. Thanks for playing along and especially on my challenge.

Jean, please accept my apology for being late in this notification and in the posting for the awardees in Showcase #9. Unfortunately, I was one of thousands who got caught up in a Google Blogger server problem and I couldn't access any of my features to let anyone know. I hope you didn't think I was neglectful because I'd never do anything without first trying to let everyone know.

At your convenience, please visit my blog and pick up your award. Congratulations because, of course, your card does "ROCK".

Thanks so much for playing with us, and we so very much enjoy having you. Come back as often as you like -- you bring so much inspiration with you!!!

I'll be seeing you, my friend!
