Zombies Everywhere!!

I told you all a few days ago that I was going to get my hubby to do some zombie makeup on me today for Halloween.  So, I had him do it this afternoon and thought when Kaylee was home from school, I would go scare her.  (I know I am a mean aunt, lol)  Well, the joke was on me, because she wasn't scared at all, she actually wanted to be a zombie instead of her costume.  So, my hubby had to make her a zombie and then two of my sisters wanted him to do their makeup too.  So, we ended up with four zombies and my hubby wore his suit and a skull mask that he did some paint work on.  Here was our Halloween crew.

Here is a picture of me and Kaylee.
Here is a picture of me and George and Kaylee.
And, this picture was too cute not to share.  Apparently it was very fun for Kaylee to become a zombie.  I can't wait to scrapbook this picture for her.

Spook-tac-u-lar Day 31: Halloween Skull Bucket

Happy Halloween Everybody!!

Welcome to day 31 of the Spook-tac-u-lar Halloween Projects.  I am so happy that you joined me and Rhonda for this month long Halloween Celebration.  Be sure to stop by and see what she has to share with you at http://www.scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ when you are finished visiting here.  I hope you have enjoyed all of the projects this month and can't wait until next Halloween!

Also, a reminder, I will be in a Birthday Hop for Rhonda and Amy tomorrow and a giveaway as well, so be sure to stop back by for that.

Now, onto today's project.  I have a Skull Candy Bucket that I made for Kaylee.  I started out with a white popcorn bucket from the Dollar Tree and decorated it.  The bow on the side is from Hobby Lobby and I hot glued it on.  I also hot glued two large google eyes to the front.  I used vinyl for the other cuts.  The mouth is from the Pumpkin Carvings Cartridge and the font for the name is from the Batman Cartridge.

Spook-tac-u-lar Day 30: Halloween Picture Frame Prop and Halloween Party Pictures (Pic Heavy)

Welcome to day 30 of the Spook-tac-u-lar Halloween Projects.  Be sure to stop by and see what Rhonda has to share with you today at http://www.scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ when you are finished visiting here.

For today, I have a cool project and a few photos from the Halloween Party to share with you.  First up, I have had a few people email me and ask me to share a picture of me and the hubby's outfits for this year.  As many of you know, we make our costumes every year.  This year, my hubby is Master Chief from the Halo video game.  I decided to be Captain America (I sewed the shirt, but you can't really see if for the shield in this pic).  Here is a picture of our costumes.  (On Halloween Day, I am going to be a zombie and let my hubby do the makeup for me, so I will share a picture of how that turns out after I do it.)
Now, for today's project, I have a Halloween Frame to share with you.  I found this large frame on clearance at Hobby Lobby, because it had a few small scratches on the sides.  I took some black acrylic paint and filled in the scratches.  Then, my husband drilled two handles from Lowes to the back so that it could be held up.  Finally, I used the Lettering Delights SVG set Costume Clubhouse to cut a ghost and two skeletons that I hot glued onto the frame.
Here are some pics of the frame being used at the party. This first pic is of my mom and my sister Britney.
This one is of my three sisters and Kaylee (who you can see is not in her costume and not wanting her picture to be taken.)

Here are a few more pics from the Halloween Party.  I have a ton more, so I am going to have some scrapbook layouts to make. :)

Halloween Yarn Jars

If you are looking for today's Halloween project, scroll down to the previous posting.

This is an extra Halloween Project that I made this year.  These Yarn Jars were made to hold candy and give away as a small gift.  I made a pumpkin one and a ghost one.
To make these, I started with a mason jar, yarn and hot glue.
I used the hot glue to attach the yarn and wrap it around the glasses.  As you get closer to the bottom, it is harder to get the yarn to stay around the jar.  I am thinking on the next ones I make I will not wrap them as far down.
For the lids, I used acrylic paint to cover them.  (white for the ghost and green for the pumpkin).
To finish the jars off, I used black glitter cardstock to cut the faces and hot glued them to the front of the jars.  I used A Child's Year for the face on the pumpkin and Pumpkin Carvings and George and Basic Shapes for the face on the ghost.
I am entering the ghost jar into the following challenge:

Spook-tac-u-lar Day 29: Frankenstein Invitations

Welcome back to Day 29 of Spook-tac-u-lar Halloween Crafts.  I cannot believe we are near the end of the month.  Where has this month gone.  Be sure to stop by and see what Rhonda has to share with you over at http://www.scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ to see what she has to share with you today when you are finished visiting here.

For today, I have the invitations that I made for our Halloween Party this year to share with you.  These are my Frankenstein invitations.  I thought of this inside sentiment and that is what gave me the inspiration to do Frankenstein Invites.  The inside sentiment is "To be Frank, it just wouldn't be a party without you!"  For the card, I used the following Cricut Cartridges: Wild Card for the base and Pumpkin Carvings for the hair and mouth.  I added two google eyes and hand drew the white stitch mark with a white gel pen.  I used the computer to print the inside for each card.

Halloween-nies Layout

If you are looking for today's Halloween project, scroll down to the previous posting.

Kaylee and my sister Britney make Halloween-nies each year.  To make them, you just take crescent roll dough and roll it out, cut it into strips and wrap it around hot dogs.  Then you bake them up and add mustard for the eyes.  It makes the hot dogs look like mummies.  These are some pictures for them making the Halloweenies last year that I had not scrapped yet.  I used the Mini Monsters Cartridge for the little mummy guy and embossed him with Tim Holtz Distress ink.  For the font, I used Folio XD and used SCAL to cut the title out with vinyl.

Spook-tac-u-lar Day 28: Dracula Doughnuts in Coffin (And a Winner)

Welcome back to Spook-tac-u-lar Day 28.  Remember to stop by and see what Rhonda has to share with you at http://www.scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ when you are finished visiting here.

First up, it is time to announce the winner of Monday's giveaway.  The winner (chosen by random org) is comment number 10 which belongs to Peggy Sue.  I have sent you an email and will get this mailed out to you as soon as I get your address. Congrats! :)

Now for today's Halloween project.  You may remember that I told you earlier this week that I had another doughnut project to share with you.  Well, here it is.  Dracula Doughnuts in their own little coffin.
To make the coffin, I started out with a coffin box purchased from Michaels craft store.  This came in a set of three different sized coffin boxes and I used the middle size for my holder.

I painted the coffin black and then used a white painte pen to add faux stitch lines around the outside of the top.  I then used the Happy Hauntings Cartridge to cut the RIP out of white vinyl.  For the inside, I took a piece of red satin material and fit it into the inside of the box.  I used hot glue to fold the edges in and attach it to the coffin.  You only need a very small amount of fabric, so if you get 1/4 a yard, you will have some left over.
Now, it was time to make my dracula for inside the coffin.  I started out by getting a four pack of individual wrapped doughnuts.  These are the Little Debbie brand doughnuts.  They are the only ones I have found that don't have a lot of writing on the front of the package.
Now, I took some black satin material and just cut a cape shape to wrap around the doughnuts.  I just eyeballed this and then used a small dot of hot glue to attach the cape at the front.  Again, you will only need a very small amount of this material.  Then, I used the Happy Hauntings Cricut Cartridge and cut the face which was also hot glued onto the front of the doughnuts.

Now, I put my little dracula into his coffin.  I gave this to Kaylee and she got a real kick out of it.  I am not sure if she is going to eat the doughnuts or not, because she said it may be too cute.  Luckily, you can easily open the doughnuts at the bottom, slip them out and keep your dracula shape safe.

Spook-tac-u-lar Day 27: Monster Crossing and No Fly Zone Signs

Welcome back to Day 27 of the Spook-tac-u-lar Halloween Projects.  I cannot believe we are almost at the end of the month.  It seems like it has flown by.  I am going to have to get on the ball with Christmas projects.  Be sure to stop by and see what Halloween Project Rhonda has to share with you today at http://www.scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ when you are finished visiting here.

For today, I have two signs I made for the Halloween party to share with you.  I have a Monster Crossing Sign and a No Fly Zone witch sign.
To make these signs, I started out with a piece of poster board in each color (yellow and green) and used a ruler and pencil to draw out a triangle on them.
Then, I cut the triangles out to make the base of my signs.
Now, I used Vinyl to decorate these.  For the Monster Crossing sign, I used the Batman Font for the words and the Happy Hauntings Cartridge for the monster silhouettes.

For the No Fly Zone Sign, I used Batman for the font, George and Basic Shapes Cartridge for the circle with a line through it and A Child's Year Cartridge for the witch.

Spook-tac-u-lar Day 26: Halloween Subway Art

Welcome back to Day 26 of Spook-tac-u-lar Halloween Projects.  Be sure to stop by and see what Rhonda has to share with you today at http://www.scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ also.

For today, I have a nice Halloween Subway Art Decoration to share with you.  To make this, I started out with a canvas that was a size of 8 x 24 from Hobby Lobby and spray painted the base black.  Once the paint was dry, I used my Gypsy to create Subway Art and cut it from white vinyl for the canvas.  Once the vinyl was applied, I used a coat of Mod Podge to cover the canvas so it would seal in the vinyl.  I used the following Cricut Cartridges to create my subway art: Batman Font, Paper Doll Dress Up and Pumpking Carvings.

Spook-tac-u-lar Day 25: Ghost Doughnuts

Welcome back to Day 25 of the 31 Days of Spook-tac-u-lar Crafts.  Be sure to stop by and see what Rhonda has to share with you at http://www.scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ when you are finished visiting here.

I am so excited about the project I have to share with you today.  It is one of my favorite things I have made for this Halloween.  Ghost Doughnuts!!  I just love how they turned out.  (By the way, I have another Halloween doughnut project that is also a favorite of mine coming up later this week that I cannot wait to share.)
To make these, I started out with Little Debbie Cakes Doughnuts.  They come in individual packs of four doughnuts.
To make my ghost, I cut out a circle template with the George and Basic Shapes Cartridge on the Cricut at a size of 10.25 inches to use as a stencil.  I had white satin material that I traced these onto and then cut out using pinking shears so the bottoms would not fray.
I then used hot glue to attach the circle at the very top of the doughnuts.  You just want to form the material over the doughnuts so it will fall down to look like a ghost and apply a small amount of glue.  You will still be able to get the package opened at the bottom without messing your ghost up.
Next, I used a sharpie to draw a face onto the front of my ghosts.

Here is a picture of how the doughnuts look under their ghost sheet.
Once all of my ghosts bases were made, I used hot glue to attach bow ties to some of them and bows to some of them.

Now, for the container I had a small black bucket from the Target $1 area that I put styrofoam pieces into.  I stacked the styrofoam to make a little step to stagger the ghosts on.  Once the styrofoam was in the base, I covered it with a black sheet of paper so you wouldn't just see the styrofoam.

I then used white vinyl to put my saying on the outside of the bucket.  I used the Batman Cartridge to cut the font.
Then, I stacked my ghosts into their new home.

A "Bootiful" Day Layout and Card

If you are looking for today's halloween project and giveaway post, please scroll down to the previous posting.

I made this layout for the challenge over at Getting Cricky with K. Andrews.  The Simply Sunday Challenge is to use Orange and Black plus one other color.  You can find the site here: http://www.gettingcricky.com/.

I used two different shades of orange on the layout.  I used Robotz for the font in the title cut in white vinyl and outlined it in black.  The ghost was cut in glitter paper from Simply Charmed.  The kite is from Create a Critter, I cut it in black and orange and pieced it together.  I added some orange and black buttons to the kite handles.  For the card, I used Wild Card for the base.

Spook-tac-u-lar Day 24: Mummy Bowling Pin (And a Giveaway)

Welcome back to Day 23 of the Spook-tac-u-lar Halloween Projects.  I hope everybody had a great weekend.  It is Monday here, so that means time for a new Halloween giveaway, be sure to check the bottom of this post for details.  Also, be sure to stop by and see what Rhonda has to share with you at http://www.scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ when you are finished here.

Today's project I have to share with you is another cute and simple decoration, a mummy bowling pin.  My family loves bowling, so this is perfect for us, lol.
I started out by taking a small wooden bowling pin (from a kid's play set) and spray painting it white.

Next, I took some rolled guaze (from the Dollar Tree) and used a hot glue gun to roll and attach the gauze around the pin.  Remember, this doesn't need to be perfect, you can roll it around how thick or loose you like.

Once this was completely wrapped, I used Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink along the gauze to give it an aged look.  Again, this is a step that can be done as much or little as you like depending on your preference.
Finally, I used hot glue to add two little yellow google eyes to the front to finish him off.
For this week's giveaway, I have a pack of six glitters from Recollections.  To be elgible, you will need to 1) Become a Follower if you are not already and 2) Leave a comment on this post.  All comments through noon on  Thursday, October 27th will be elgible and I will use random.org to pick a winner who will be announced here on Friday, October 28th.  Good Luck to everyone! :)
