Spook-tac-u-lar Day 25: Ghost Doughnuts

Welcome back to Day 25 of the 31 Days of Spook-tac-u-lar Crafts.  Be sure to stop by and see what Rhonda has to share with you at http://www.scraphappenswithrhonda.blogspot.com/ when you are finished visiting here.

I am so excited about the project I have to share with you today.  It is one of my favorite things I have made for this Halloween.  Ghost Doughnuts!!  I just love how they turned out.  (By the way, I have another Halloween doughnut project that is also a favorite of mine coming up later this week that I cannot wait to share.)
To make these, I started out with Little Debbie Cakes Doughnuts.  They come in individual packs of four doughnuts.
To make my ghost, I cut out a circle template with the George and Basic Shapes Cartridge on the Cricut at a size of 10.25 inches to use as a stencil.  I had white satin material that I traced these onto and then cut out using pinking shears so the bottoms would not fray.
I then used hot glue to attach the circle at the very top of the doughnuts.  You just want to form the material over the doughnuts so it will fall down to look like a ghost and apply a small amount of glue.  You will still be able to get the package opened at the bottom without messing your ghost up.
Next, I used a sharpie to draw a face onto the front of my ghosts.

Here is a picture of how the doughnuts look under their ghost sheet.
Once all of my ghosts bases were made, I used hot glue to attach bow ties to some of them and bows to some of them.

Now, for the container I had a small black bucket from the Target $1 area that I put styrofoam pieces into.  I stacked the styrofoam to make a little step to stagger the ghosts on.  Once the styrofoam was in the base, I covered it with a black sheet of paper so you wouldn't just see the styrofoam.

I then used white vinyl to put my saying on the outside of the bucket.  I used the Batman Cartridge to cut the font.
Then, I stacked my ghosts into their new home.

I am entering these into the following challenges:

OMG! This is brilliant! I love those little powdered donuts and this would be a really great way to conceal them! Oops... Did I say that outloud? I mean to share them. I have to say though... they are a guilty pleasure. I usually eat them in secret... well... until someone sees the sugar afterwards. Hee! Hee!
