Cooking With Cricut Challenge 15: Ground Hog's Day Shadow Salute: Design Team Project

For Challenge 15 at Cooking with Cricut, we are doing a salute to Ground Hog's Day.  Your project must include the shadow feature on your title, die cut, etc.  Be sure to stop by and check out all of the projects by the Design Team and get in on the challenge here.

For my project, I decided to go with a layout of Kaylee's school picture from earlier this year.  I incorporated the shadow feature on my layout in the title and the bus.  For this layout, the background paper and the picture background are from the DCWV school paper pack.  I then used a few different carts, details below:

3 Birds on Parade:  the title and shadow, added faux stitching lines with a white opaque pen
Jubilee: banner, added faux stitching and the first grade with a white opaque pen, used a small piece of thread to connect this to the bus
Doodlecharms: school bus, hand drew details on the bus, used little tire brads for the wheels. (these are some of the adorable brads that I won from Serenity Scrappers brad challenge)
Paper Doll Dress Up: small people with hand drawn details to add inside the bus
Cars: Stop sign, used white pen for letters and added to the bus with a pop dot

I am also entering this layout into the challenge over at Tuesday Throwdown.  The challenge is to use stitching (faux or real).  Be sure to check their blog out here: http://tuesdaythrowdown.blogspot.com/

This layout is too cute, Jean! I love your kiddos and the banner being pulled by the bus is a great idea. My little one is in first grade this year, too.

Hey Audrey, I just drew the stitch marks in. I don't have a sewing machine, but I have asked my hubby to get me one for my bday in April so maybe I will be able to actually sew on some of my layouts then. :)
